One of our adventures was to build a bush house so about a dozen of us children (cousins and friends) cut down saplings and with adult help made the frame.
Using branches off the trees we tied them together for roof and walls.
We found an old wood stone which we used on some Sundays to cook our lunch (sausages and eggs).
However one Sunday, we don’t know how the wall caught on fire.
We all got out safely and Uncle Paul used a hose to put out the fire.
We not only lost our house but our lunch as well which was rather overdone.
We then had to think up the next adventure.
