Voices of Birralee’s Artistic Staff and Touring Choir is inviting singers aged between 9 and 17 years to join them for a fun and engaging afternoon of workshops.

To celebrate the 150-year anniversary of Stanthorpe they are also inviting parents of the participants and community members of any age to join them in learning, rehearsing and performing “The Stanthorpe Song”, written for Back to Stanthorpe Week in 1954 – courtesy of Stanthorpe Heritage Museum.

Set amidst over 1000 student artworks, attendees will participate in practical singing workshops and a performance with the Voices of Birralee Children’s Choir.

The fun and music-filled day will be held on Thursday 22 September at Stanthorpe Civic Centre from 1:45 pm to 5:30 pm, with warm-ups and singing games from 2 pm, followed by a workshop, a short break, and the Community Sing event.

Workshops are open to students aged between 9 and 17 and Community Sing is open to all ages.

Voices of Birralee is looking forward to sharing their song and spending time with the Stanthorpe community. They are a community arts organisation that believes singing together strengthens community, with choristers collaborating to create expressive music while building a strong sense of self and audiences being inspired by the beauty and infectiousness of joyous performance.
