Hailed a roaring success with well over 2000 punters through the gate, the 2022 Mitre 10 Stanthorpe Cup lived up to its reputation as one of the best country races in Queensland.
After a bleak Friday afternoon, Saturday morning delivered what can only be described at perfect race weather.
Stanthorpe Jockey Club president Neil Brunckhorst said the day could not have run more smoothly and the committee was extremely happy with how everything went.
“It was the trifecta really… perfect weather, a great day racing and a fantastic crowd” he said.
“We had no trouble at all,“ he said. “Everyone is just there to have a good time and that is exactly what they do.“
Of course, an event of this magnitude could not happen without the hardworking committee and the amazing sponsors that come on board each year.
“Without these people we simply wouldn’t be racing” Mr Brunckhorst said.
