Fashionable and chic were the words describing those who attended the Melbourne Cup race at the Stanthorpe RSL Club on Tuesday.
A field of 23 local and international horses raced over 3200m for a whopping $8 million in prize money.
The crowd enjoyed lunch and drinks as keen punters hoped they had made a winning bet.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecast wet weather in Melbourne and in the Southern Downs but it didn’t dampen the spirits of racegoers.
