Go fund me organiser Kylie Beckett and The Little Larder owner Cameron Giddings showed true community spirit by organising the evening.

The Little Larder owner Cameron Giddings opened his doors to host a fundraiser for injured farmer/seamstress Claire McKenzie on Saturday evening in Stanthorpe.

The community came together for a night of great drink, even better food, and most importantly, to raise funds for Claire.

According to Cameron, who wanted to host the event to “support a local hero”, said businesses from around the region and further afield were more than willing to donate goods for the silent auction in order to get the best outcome possible.

“It was my honour to help in any way possible and being able to host this event was the very least myself and my staff could do,” he said.

“I can’t imagine what Claire has gone through, or will continue to go through, but if as a community, we can all be there to make her journey a little easier, well seems like such a simple gesture.”

The grand total (which was $3361 at time of printing, with more funds still to come through) is going to be added to the Go Fund Me fundraiser that was recently started by Kylie Beckett. The balance of the Go Fund me currently stands at $16,946.99 and with the addition of the Little Larder fundraiser the total will exceed $20,000.

Kylie Beckett was there on Saturday night and was thrilled with the turnout.

“I met some lovely people from our community and was blown away with their generosity”, she said. “I really have to thank all those who have donated to this cause in so many different ways. Claire is such a lovely, local lady and she really deserves all the help we can give her”.

Cameron and Kylie will personally hand over a cheque to Claire in the near future. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled in upcoming editions of Stanthorpe Today for coverage on this special occasion.
