Bringing the conversations to the Stanthorpe Show, the Granite Belt Growers Association (GBGA) will be hosting its Farming After-hours event.

This event is a regular gathering for GBGA members and sponsors that usually takes place monthly at various farms.

Connie Taylor, the president of GBGA, views this event as a platform to promote mental health and encourage active communication among farmers.

“We sometimes have speakers talk to us but mostly it is just a space where farmers can talk to other farmers on issues that are important to them,” Connie said.

With a consistent turnout of over 20 people at each gathering, it is evident that growers appreciate the opportunity to engage.

The upcoming event at the Stanthorpe Show on 2 February promises a similar vibe but with the added elements of drinks and fireworks.

From 6pm to 9pm at the Can Bar at Stanthorpe Showgrounds, the night will be filled with fun.

Connie highlighted that anyone interested in becoming a member simply needs to be a grower. They can then reach out to the Association for an application, enabling them to partake in all that the association has to offer, including events like the Farming after-hours gathering.
