Warwick’s Lincoln Bryant and Lauren Ryan have been named in Darling Downs representative 13-15 years Hockey sides following trials this past weeks.
Warwick Hockey Association, Representative Coordinator and Participation Director Sarah Monk said
a third player, Georgia Lee had also been named as shadow keeper to Ryan in the girls squad.
“We had a number of players attending the trials,” she said.
“All players put in a huge effort and need to be congratulated for their dedication to hockey.
“We have a few players attending Darling Downs Trials for 16-19years on Tuesday 19 March. Good luck to those players.
“Our junior season starts on Saturday the 27 April. We are hosting a come and try afternoon this Thursday 21 March from 4-5pm.”
Monk said the seniors season is now underway with four teams playing in the Mixed Graded competition on Thursday night and four in the Social Mixed on Friday night at their Queens Park grounds.
“On Thursday night we saw Bernie’s Bullys take on Rex’s Red Cards, with Bernie’s Bullys taking the win on the night,” she said.
“The second game of the evening saw Doc’s Dribblers versus DG’s Drag Flickers.
“Teams have been named in honour of Life Members of our Association.
“Friday night mixed social was played in our Branch teams, Corinthians, Harlequins, Saints and Wyverns.
“In this competition we have lots of new players to our senior competition. Harlequins convincely beat Corinthians and Wyverns defeated Saints.”
