Recognising the need for clear and accessible information about aged care, STAR is launching “Care Conversations,“ a series of monthly morning tea sessions specifically designed to support seniors and their families. These gatherings aim to address people’s questions and concerns about aged care services in a warm, inviting environment where everyone can feel comfortable seeking the support they need to maintain their independence in senior years.

Aged care is often a challenging and overwhelming topic, with many people unsure about the services available to them and the best ways to access these resources. STAR- a local non-profit organisation operating since 1996, recognises this gap in knowledge and is dedicated to providing clear, comprehensive information to help individuals make informed decisions about their care.

“We understand how daunting aged care can be for seniors and their families, especially when they are just starting out,“ said Patsy Wilshire, CEO of STAR. “Our goal with Care Conversations is to create a comfortable space where people can have their queries resolved, understand their options, and feel supported throughout the process.“

Participants are encouraged to bring their loved ones along, ensuring that the entire family can benefit from the information shared.

The sessions will be held on the below dates and times at STAR Community Services office at 163 Palmerin Street, Warwick 4370

Friday 13 September 2024 from 10 am -12 PM

“We strongly believe that informed families make better decisions about aged care,“ added Ms Wilshire. “By providing these sessions, we hope to alleviate some of the stress and confusion surrounding aged care and help our community members feel more confident and supported.“
