A Stanthorpe man is celebrating a life-changing win after discovering he had won more than $100,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries draw.
The fortunate local held the 1st Prize-winning entry in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10870, which was drawn on Tuesday, 27 August 2024.
Along with his major win, he also picked up a consolation prize, bringing his total windfall to $102,000.
Unaware of his newfound fortune, the man received the joyous news through a phone call from an official at The Lott.
“Oh my goodness! This is amazing news!“ the surprised winner exclaimed.
“I’ve had a rough couple of years, so this news has come at a great time. I dabble in a variety of different lottery games but have always had a soft spot for Lucky Lotteries. I guess today is my lucky day!“
The elated winner shared that he couldn’t wait to inform his family, who he knew would be thrilled with the news.
“This will help us with all the small things we’ve been wanting to do. We’re due for some renovations and new home appliances,” he said.
“It would also be lovely to take my family on an interstate holiday. I feel so happy. I feel like I might explode!“
The winning ticket, consisting of 10 consecutive numbers, was purchased at Stanthorpe Plaza Newsagency, located at 128 High Street in Stanthorpe.
Louise Bentley, co-owner of Stanthorpe Plaza Newsagency, expressed her excitement about selling the winning ticket.
“We will be putting up some balloons and banners in-store to highlight this achievement,“ she said.
“We’re so happy to have been able to change someone’s life forever. All the best to our winner, and we hope all their dreams come true.“
As the man enjoys his new windfall, the excitement continues to build, with the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize now sitting at $1.96 million and the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize exceeding $4 million for the upcoming draws.
