Stanthorpe State School’s 150th anniversary celebrations brought the local community together to honour the school’s rich history and educational legacy.

The day was filled with nostalgia, as attendees browsed old school photos and artefacts, sparking memories of years gone by.

For the young and the young-at-heart, traditional games such as bean bag toss, the chocolate wheel, a pie-the-teacher competition, and other old-fashioned sports brought a lively energy to the festivities.

In the evening, guests were treated to a complimentary drink as they reflected on their shared connections to the school over the last century and a half. The night also featured live local music, canapés, and lucky door prizes, making it a fitting conclusion to a day filled with joy and memories.

This celebration followed in the footsteps of Stanthorpe’s town milestone in 2022, as the community continues to honour its historical landmarks and the role of education in shaping its future.
