Successful day of sustainability and learning

Jeanette Davis and Liz Bourne flew the flag for the Stanthorpe Rare Wildflower Consortium.

The Stanthorpe Eco Expo marked its fifth year on Saturday 7 September, with a fresh new format that was embraced by attendees at the Whistlestop Community Gardens.

The event featured an innovative approach, offering visitors a guided tour through various stallholders who delivered live talks and demonstrations from their market sites.

As the farmers’ markets began to wind down, more presentations kept the audience engaged. Hayley from Beautiful Abundance shared her expertise on fermenting foods for health while Graeme Sait from Nutrition Farms offered insight into sustainable farming practices.

Organisers were thrilled with the success of the event, sharing their excitement on social media: “What a great day we had yesterday at our 5th Eco Expo! Thanks to all those who attended and made it such a special time.”

With so many activities throughout the day, the Expo not only showcased sustainable practices but also provided visitors with practical tools to live more eco-conscious lives. Attendees left feeling inspired and empowered, ready to incorporate the knowledge they gained into their everyday routines.
