Spring and harvest vineyard party

Ballandean Estate invites you to their Vineyard Party.

Ballandean Estate has announced a vineyard party to celebrate the end of spring and the upcoming harvest on Saturday, 30 November.

Wine enthusiasts are invited to join Angelo Puglisi, known as the Father of Queensland Wine, along with five generations of the Puglisi family, for what promises to be an unforgettable event.

Robyn Puglisi Henderson, Angelo’s daughter and the estate’s manager, reflected on last year’s celebration, which honoured Angelo’s 80th birthday and his lifelong contribution to Queensland’s wine industry.

“Our 2023 vineyard party saw over 250 people gather on the Opera Block for a long Italian lunch, dancing among the vines, and enjoying Ballandean Estate’s wines. It was a heartwarming celebration with our amicis after a five-year event hiatus,” she said.

This year’s event will continue the festive tradition but with new twists.

“We’re kicking up our heels, celebrating spring’s end with sensational wines and another mouth-watering long lunch,” Robyn said. Italian-trained chef Jason Constanzo, whose family has deep ties with the region, will be crafting the Italian-inspired feast. Guests can also enjoy live music by No Relation, lucky door prizes, and activities like bocce and croquet.

A charity raffle supporting Rotary Stanthorpe will also be part of the day, continuing Ballandean Estate’s tradition of giving back to the community.

The winery has raised $1.6 million for Rotary over the years through events like Opera in the Vineyard and charity race days.

The festivities will run from 11am to 4pm. Tickets, priced at $80 per person, include a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, an Italian buffet lunch, and access to an optional shuttle bus. Tickets are limited and can be booked at this link.

Ballandean Estate has been a pillar of the Queensland wine industry for over 80 years, with Angelo Puglisi’s leadership helping it grow into a multi-million-dollar industry.

The prestigious Angelo Puglisi Grand Champion Wine of Show award continues to honour his lasting influence on the industry.
