Ekka pushing value

The Ekka started this week with the great involvement from many organizations pushing the value of our primary production forward, a special shout out to the Scots Colledge High School students for their back-to-back win in the Young Judging Cattle Competition for the High Schools in Shows. Agents saw their numbers back this week, for both cattle and sheep and lamb numbers the weather being a contributing factor with some vendors unable to yard their stock. Cattle yarding saw 1315 head make it to market, and sheep and lamb numbers saw 1332 head yarded. Markets were firm for the Cattle and slightly dearer for the Lamb types.
