Granite Belt gets physical

Fourteen of the 28 competitors left at the end of a very long day.

The Granite Belt YMCA Physie Club has returned home from its first ever interclub competition hosted by the Strathpine club in Brisbane.
The competition was amazingly large, with nine clubs and close to 500 perticipants competing and up to 15 girls on the floor most of the time.
Needless to say, the competition was extremely strong, with national place-getters in almost every age group.
The Granite Belt girls and ladies held their own amongst the tough competition in all sections, bringing home one first place (Natasha Brierley), three second places (Hannah Phelps, Abby Phelps and Jessica Brierley), and two fourth places (Stacey Hayne and Jennah Haddock).
The club will now be travelling to Woy Woy on the Central Coast for their second interclub competition at the end of August before travelling to Coffs Harbour for their Zone competition in October.
The Granite Belt Club is going from strength to strength with more than 80 members, in Tenterfield and Stanthorpe, aged from three years old.
Classes are held in Tenterfield on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, and Thursday afternoons in Stanthorpe.
