Preparations are underway for the return of rodeo action to the Stanthorpe Showgrounds on Saturday, 19 November.
The Stanthorpe Rodeo Association, in conjunction with the National Rodeo Association, will host Round One of the 2022 National Rodeo Association Finals.
The event will be the first of a three -part finals series.
The top 12 competitors in 14 events including :- Bull Ride; Saddle Ride ; Bareback Ride ; Rope and Tie; Steer Wrestling; Steer Wrestling; Barrel Race ; Barrel Race ; Steer Undecorating; various Under 18 and Under 15events and the 7- U12 Poddy Ride will do battle.
The first round of the national finals series is traditionally the ‘Tough Enough to Wear Pink” round to promote breast cancer awareness and the committee will easily spotted wearing their pink shirts to promote this message.
The shirts will be provided by Mavericks Western Wear, and the committee is grateful for their contribution to promote this important message.
Stanthorpe Agricultural Society and Stanthorpe Rodeo committee member Paula Boatfield said the committee were excited to see the event return.
“A major sponsor of the national final series is Johnny Ringo’s Country Rock Saloon,” she said.
“In November they will be bringing the ‘Ropes and Reins’ cocktail saloon, the Spaghetti Western pizza, pasta and dessert food truck, and DJ Bux for the ‘Hot Country After Party’ to entertain crowds once the rodeo activities are finished.
“There will also be plenty of other food and refreshments available – something for everyone.”
Gates will open from 3pm and the Rodeo action in the **Tough Enough to Wear Pink** round will get underway at 5pm.
Tickets for round one of the NRA National Finals Rodeo will be available on the NRA website in coming weeks, booking for camping spots at the same time.
