Organisers of Stanthorpe Junior cricket could not have been happier with the response to the opening day of the new season on Saturday.
Spokesperson Damian Anderson said there was a “fantastic roll-up” of new and returning players and parents on Saturday.
“We have 56 players across the three levels of cricket with more children yet to join up,” he said.
Anderson said white cricket teams will be finalised in the next few days to allow late for registrations. If you have not yet signed up it is not to late to do so.
He said the response to our coaches and helpers on Saturday and said it was also pleasing the number of parents that said they can offer help in the future.
Anderson said it was also wonderful to see some many parents there to watch their kids.
“I don’t think I have seen that many in a long time, I’m sure your children deep down really appreciated it, but probably just forgot to tell you,” he said.
