Stanthorpe Croquet

Rain curtailed the Stanthorpe Croquet this week with only the Wednesday Golf Croquet played.

Game One saw Bev Sullivan, Pauline Smith and Jennifer Gleadhill drawing Shirley Page, Di Jones and Kathy Hopgood in a tight tussle.

It was a close game, with the blue ball scoring the first three hoops. Sullivan and Page scored the most hoops of the game with four apiece. Final score eight-all.

Cherry Kirmond played against Steve Jones and Di Wren. Wren scored six hoops, with Jones and Kirmond scoring five apiece with Jones and Wren eventually winning 11– 5.

In the second lot of games Hopgood, Steve Jones and Smith played against Gleadhill, Wren and Kirmond.

Di Jones and Sullivan played against Page and Judy Lock. This game was close with Page scoring six hoops and D Jones, Sullivan and Lock all scoring five hoops. D Jones also scored a hole in one. Page and Lock won 11 – 10.

Warwick Croquet Club

The Croquet Club is preparing for it’s annual major fundraiser to be held as part of Jumpers and Jazz in July.

The event, a Devonshire Tea, will be held on Sunday, 28 July with 9.30am start and all are welcome.

On Thursday 11 July the club played a round of golf croquet.

Sue Stanley-Harris and Judy Funder defeated Lil Henricks and Brian Murray 7-5; Rhyl Dearden and Maree Windle defeated Beth Schottelius and Carol Ryan 7-5;

Marian Cirson defeated Carole Dorrough 7- 5;

Helen Dooley and Dani Logan defeated Marian Cirson and Brian Murray 7-5; Sue Stanley-Harris and Carole Dorrough beat Lil Henricks 7-5; Judy Funder and Carol Ryan beat Maree Windle and Beth Schottelius 7-5;

Marian Cirson and Judy Funder beat Helen Dooley and Brian Murray 7-5; Rhyl Dearden and Sue Stanley-Harris beat Maree Windle and Beth Schottelius 7-6 and

Lil Henricks and Carole Dorrough both had a hole in one.
