East Warwick

Thursday’s monthly pairs day saw a full green of sixteen teams, playing in very pleasant weather. The winners on the day were Peter Collis, with the runners-up being Ron Philps and Sue Butz. Last Saturday’s mixed social bowls saw us play four games of triples. The winner was Al Buse, while Wayne Foster and Toby Robinson (who shared the games), Peter Collis and Johnno Johnson were the equal runners-up. The attempt at the jackpot was unsuccessful.

Saturday 31 August the club will hold a mixed three-bowl pairs competition. Play will start at 9am. There will be mixed social bowls for anyone not involved, starting at the usual time of 1pm.

Next Thursday (5 September) we will be holding our monthly triples competition. Play starts at 10am.

Finally, on Saturday, 14 September we will hold a special day to raise funds for Sue Butz and Julie Foster, who will be representing our zone in the state ladies pairs competition in October. We would like as many bowlers, both Warwick East members and visitors, to come along to support Sue and Julie.
