HE won’t take his place in the Senate until July, but Senator-elect, Matt Canavan is already out and about and will be talking to residents of the Granite Belt on Saturday.
Mr Canavan will speak at a function organised by LNP Women at St Paul’s Hall Corundum St on Saturday 15 February.
“We claim Matt as a local, he hails from Toowoomba,” said Mary Rofe, chair of Granite Belt LNP Women.
“His focus will be very much on regional issues when he takes his seat in the Senate replacing long standing champion of small business, Senator Ron Boswell,” she said.
Afternoon tea will commence at 2pm with a Valentine’s Day theme.
“We think it is still close enough to celebrate and love is always important,” Ms Rofe said.
“Members have been around for several weeks now selling raffle tickets in the grand Valentine’s raffle which is multi-draw with lots of lovely prizes.”
Admission is $10 for afternoon tea. Ring 46810871 to book your seat or a table. Ring Mary Rofe 46810805 for more information
