Caitlyn’s at the top of her game

WITH two Walkley Awards under her belt, University of Southern Queensland (USQ) journalism alumni and former Warwick local Caitlyn Gribbin could soon add another three to her collection.
The finalists in the 2014 Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism have been announced and Ms Gribbin, an ABC journalist, has picked up three nominations.
She has been recognised for her stories on Exit International, a euthanasia group, in the Walkley categories: All Media – Social Equity Journalism; Radio News And Current Affairs Journalism; and TV/AV Daily Current Affairs.
The finalists were chosen from over 1400 entries from Australian journalists, which were judged by more than 100 senior industry representatives.
Since graduating from USQ in 2010, Ms Gribbin has been awarded the Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year award in the Radio/Audio category twice.
She is a journalist with the ABC’s National Reporting Team. She is based in Perth after working in Mount Isa, Bundaberg and Brisbane.
The 2014 Walkley Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney in December.
