Stanthorpe Police Reports

A NUMBER of property-related offences were reported over the past week. A Honda water pump was stolen from a rural property at Sims Lane, Applethorpe sometime during the past week. Sometime over the past month a quantity of tools, mostly old woodworking tools, were stolen from a shed on a rural property at Pozieres Road, Cottonvale.

Break-in
UNKNOWN offenders gained entry to a house in Archibald Street, Stanthorpe by cutting a flyscreen and unlocking the door, sometime between 8.30am and 9.40am last Friday. While damage was caused to the flyscreen, no property was stolen from the residence.

Goods recovered
ALSO on the night of 28 November, a trailer owned by the Stanthorpe Cricket Association was stolen from C.F. White Oval. The offender has been identified by police and will be charged with the offence. The trailer was located in bushland off Britannia Street in good condition and will be returned to the owners. Police are also investigating the theft of alcohol from a shed in Denham Street that occurred on Sunday afternoon. A number of suspects have been identified and police hope to charge those offenders in coming days.

Grinch alert
THE Christmas tree in the Piazza, Maryland Street, Stanthorpe, was badly damaged around midnight on Saturday. The same offenders are believed responsible for a trail of nuisance offences up Wallangarra Road including hoses strung across roadways and tyres rolled down the street. Police will be endeavouring to view CCTV footage however request the assistance from anyone who witnessed the mindless act.

Drugs charges
A 23-YEAR-OLD man will face court charged with possessing a pipe that had been used for smoking the drug ice. The arrest follows a raid on premises in Roberts Road, Stanthorpe, last Monday. A 16-year-old youth will also face Children’s Court charged with possessing cannabis and a smoking utensil on Sunday evening.
