Brisbane trams… they turn up everywhere

Probus members board the toast rack tram.

WARWICK Combined Probus Club members took a nostalgic journey on Brisbane’s de-commissioned trams late last month when they visited the Tramway Museum in Ferny Grove.
The group boarded a series of trams for short rides on the private tramway maintained by the volunteers at the museum.
The closure of the entire tram network in Brisbane was marked on 13 April 1969 – following a suspicious fire that destroyed much of Brisbanes’ tramway rolling stock – when the then Lord Mayor Clem Jones drove the last tram into the workshop at Milton.
