John Kent and Andy Bichel with the World Cup.

IT’S not every day that a former Australian cricketer and a prized trophy comes to town.
But that is exactly what happened at Slade Park, Warwick, on Sunday.
Cricket fans were treated to a meet-and-greet with retired seam bowler Andy Bichel and given the chance to have their photo taken with the Cricket World Cup trophy as part of promotional tour sprucing the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
President of the Warwick Cricket Association Michael Bourke estimated about 100 cricket tragics, young and old, came down to inspect the visitors.
“Andy Bichel was mucking around with the kids, giving them a few pointers about different things that can help them down the track,” he said.
But hoisting the hardware into the air was out of the question for the youngsters.
“It was quite a heavy trophy,” Mr Bourke said.
“It weighs about 15 kilograms.”
The ICC Cricket World Cup returns to Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 23 years in February.
