FOUR men have been charged with drug offences in the Stanthorpe area over the past week.
A 21-year-old Boronia Heights man received a drug diversion after he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis during a routine vehicle stop in Ellwood Road on Tuesday evening.
A 19-year-old man was charged with possessing dangerous drugs after cannabis was located concealed in a vehicle on New England Highway, Applethorpe on Wednesday afternoon.
Routine foot patrols at a local motel led to the arrest of a 26-year-old male tourist after he was observed trying to conceal a quantity of cannabis.
And an overseas tourist, a 27-year-old man, was charged with possessing a drug after being located in parkland off Rose Street Stanthorpe on Sunday afternoon.
THE 38-year-old male driver of a vehicle intercepted in Mill Street, Stanthorpe on Saturday afternoon will face court after recording a blood alcohol reading of .125 per cent.
A 23-year-old man will appear before Stanthorpe Magistrates Court charged with unlicensed driving and driving without due care and attention after a traffic crash on Saturday night involving two parked vehicles.
POLICE are investigating an assault complaint in relation to an incident which took place at The Central Hotel on Saturday night where the complainant was assaulted on two separate occasions by two separate offenders.
RECENT rain has seen a spike in the number of minor traffic crashes.
Motorists are reminded to drive to the conditions and conduct regular checks of tyres and brakes.
