Repairs ready by Christmas

FLOOD repairs to roads within the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley are almost complete.
Over the past four years, the flood reconstruction team has worked on 173 projects across 772 kilometres of the road network to repair damage resulting from the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 natural disasters, at a cost of more than $984.8 million.
With only 41km of road left to repair, arising from the damage caused by the flood event in January 2013, construction will be finished by Christmas on all projects, reducing travel delays considerably over the holiday period, according to Department of Transport and Main Roads latest area stakeholder report.
Expenditure state-wide has now exceeded $6.3 billion.
