LOCALS will get the chance to rub shoulders with the likes of Shane Webcke and other NRL greats next Friday at the Leyburn Royal Hotel.
The sporting legends are in town as part of the Men of League Foundation’s Queensland Southern Division Committee’s third annual Shane Webcke event which will take place at the watering hole on Friday 13 March.
Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with former State of Origin legends Shane Webcke, Wally Fullerton-Smith and Chris Walker, along with Chris’s brothers Shane and Ben and Australian cricketing great John Gleeson.
Southern Division Committee president Andrew O’Brien said the event had been designed to celebrate Queensland’s sporting successes and the future of Men of League.
“All money raised at the event will go toward supporting the welfare efforts of the Men of League Foundation – the only charity supporting men, women and children in the rugby league community who need a helping hand,” he said.
“For $25 per person (including finger food), we encourage all Men of League members, their friends and the wider community to join us to raise much needed funds for the foundation while enjoying an evening alongside a slew of sporting greats.
“Given the success of previous two years, the evening promises to be one to remember.
“Get in quick to secure your place at what we anticipate to be another sellout event.”
