WARWICK remembered its Celtic History on Friday and Saturday with St Mary’s Celtic Fest Markets and Dinner Dance.
Father Franco Filipetto said the event attracted great numbers with 150 people taking part in Friday night’s dinner dance at the hall and a good crowd turning up for the markets on the Saturday morning.
He said the area had a strong Celtic tradition because it had been settled by a lot of Irish people.
Up until the 1960s the town held a St Patrick’s Day march and the day was a major holiday in the area.
A St Mary’s Festival was held until 2007 when it ended due to a lack of manpower.
