Tourists face graffiti charges

THIRTEEN businesses were subject to graffiti damage in the early hours Sunday morning.
Using CCTV, police observed one offence being committed in the Piazza and immediately proceeded to that location, detaining an 18-year-old male tourist.
Investigations carried out resulted in one male being charged with six graffiti offences and possessing a graffiti instrument.
A second offender, also an 18-year-old tourist was located and charged with two counts of graffiti, disobeying a police move-on direction and urinating in a public place.
Police are still waiting for a number of offences to be reported by the victims to investigate and charge the offenders.
