THIS week it has been announced that Warwick’s Ford and Nissan car dealerships will officially be locally owned through a partnership between Warwick’s Chris Murphy and Brisbane based automotive group Motorline.
The new venture has come as a result of the separation from the Southern Cross Automotive Group.
Peter Stewart Automotive will now become Warwick Automotive and will include Warwick Ford and Warwick Nissan.
Warwick Automotive dealer principal Chris Murphy said the move would mean bigger involvement in the local community and increased benefits to the local economy.
“It’s an exciting time for our dealership and for the town. Peter Stewart has had a great name in the local community and provided generous assistance for many years but this change will provide a turning point in our company. It enables us to have a renewed outlook on building a future for the Warwick economy and a refreshed focus on community support and local charities.” Mr Murphy said.
“We will be hiring some more people and recruiting staff. I want to put a local feel back into the place.”
Mr Murphy started his career as an apprentice mechanic at Peter Stewart Ford before making his way up to group dealer principal in 2004.
“Cultural change can be a challenge but with the same faces and our continued high level of customer service at the dealership paired with more resources and ongoing support from Motorline’s established team, we will be in a position to offer even more to our customers than ever before,” he said.
Motorline Group has won numerous manufacturer awards and will bring 17 years of experience in the automotive industry to the partnership.
The brand new Warwick Automotive will begin with facility updates in the coming months.
