Students deliver the care

Warwick High School students working with Zonta.

FIFTEEN Warwick State High School students recently gave their Saturday morning to help the Zonta Club of Warwick.
The 15 young women worked with Zonta Club, in association with The Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, to assemble birthing kits to assist women in developing countries.
The purpose of assembling the birthing kits is to help provide a clean and safe birthing environment for women in developing countries to reduce the incidence of infant and maternal morbidity and mortality in third world countries.
The kits are basic with six items: plastic sheet, soap, two gloves, sterile scalpel blade, three cords and five gauze squares. The six components of the birthing kit are placed into press-seal bags ready to be sent overseas.
The school is very proud of these girls for volunteering their time to help such a worthy cause.
