‘Where the Light Fell’ is a new exhibition by Jean Fysh and Susan Shaw at the Warwick Art Gallery, from Thursday 27 April to Sunday 4 June.
Mother and daughter, Jean and Susan began working in pastel in 2011 after attending a workshop by Warwick artist Nicole Wood.
The exhibition features scenes meticulously captured from the artists' everyday lives whether that be still-lives, portraits, or landscapes which have for some reason attracted their attention.
There is no consistent or considered theme in their works however the compositional decisions are surprising and enhance the everyday scenes to ones of intrigue and luxury. They are attracted to the colour, texture and the relationship objects have between each other. Also tone, shadow and reflections play an important role.
This is the duo's first exhibition.
