Residents are urged to attend the next meeting of Slade Lives Again – Development for Everyone (SLADE) if they wish this group to proceed with the purchase of
Slade Campus.
SLADE president Ian Perkins told Sunday’s meeting that the group had lodged an expression of interest for the purchase of Slade Campus just in time to meet the Southern Downs Regional Council’s deadline last week.
There was one other expression of interest received by the council. The Southern Free Times was unable to contact this group at time of print.
Mr Perkins said it was now in the hands of both the community and the council to decide its fate.
He stressed residents interested in the proposal should lobby their councillors.
The next SLADE meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 3, at 5pm at Slade Hall. Any residents interested in the SLADE proposal are encouraged to attend.
Dementia Support Group Warwick Inc president Pam Eather showed her support for SLADE at Sunday’s meeting by registering her contact details so the group could contact her with developments.
Mrs Eather said the group was interested in using part of the site for a dementia respite centre so carers could have a much-
needed break.
“I think this will be a great thing for the community,” she said.
