Bestselling author visits the region

Bestselling author Nicole Alexander gave writing and publishing tips to local residents during her visit to Warwick and Stanthorpe recently.
Alexander’s The Bark Cutters is the highest selling debut work in the rural genre ever and now her second book, A Changing Land, is selling faster than her first.
In her book tour, she has visited Inverell, Glen Innes, Dubbo, Sydney, Scone, Moree, Toowoomba, Goondiwindi and many other places.
Alexander received praise from Warwick resident Jacque Potter, who had read the author’s first book and bought the second one at the Warwick event.
“It was great. It was just like you were doing it (working on the land) all again. I thought it was a wonderful read,” Mrs Potter said.
Alexander described the pressures of writing after releasing a bestselling book and her concerns of being labelled “the one hit book author”.
The writer of 18 years gives advice to budding local authors: “Look at your story visually to see if your readers are able to walk around your book”.
She is now working on her third book.
