His art has taken him through America and Japan and now Rudy Kistler will show his amazing talent in Warwick.
Kistler, who was awarded Highly Commended at Chalk The Walk in 2007 and has had the honour of being included in the Mosman and Paddington art prizes, will liven up the pavements outside the Warwick Art Gallery as part of the Jumpers and Jazz Festival.
The festival’s artistic director Karina Devine thought residents would thoroughly enjoy Kistler’s “fantastic chalk drawings”.
“His banter with the public is also fantastic,” Ms Devine said.
“He will also do a workshop for adults and youth to teach them the skills to do chalk art themselves,” she said.
The Youth and Adult Chalk Art Workshop costs $40 and will be held on Monday, July 25, from 10am to 4pm. There are only 10 places available.
A Children’s Chalk Art Challenge will occur on Saturday, July 23, from 1pm to 4pm. The cost for the challenge is $10.
Kistler will be working outside the Warwick Art Gallery from July 21-31.
The Jumpers and Jazz is a 10-day festival, starting on July 21, which incorporates a diverse program of jazz and is a platform for the arts.
