Heritage Council visits Warwick

Members of the Queensland Heritage Council (QHC) visited Warwick last Thursday.
QHC member and rural representative, John Cotter, said the Heritage Council planned to spend more time in the region to better understand the heritage significance of regional places.
They had a tour of the city before they visited local heritage-listed places including Hope Cottage at the Assmanshausens Winery, Canning Downs and Glengallan.
Mr Cotter was accompanied by fellow QHC members Emily Wall, Stuart Lummis and QHC deputy chair Chris Buckley.
The Queensland Heritage Council is the State’s independent advisor on heritage matters and determines what places are entered in the Queensland Heritage Register.
Places that are entered in the Heritage Register are considered of importance to Queensland’s history and are protected under heritage legislation.
