Governor General opens 100th Show

Despite the wet and muddy conditions, Governor General Quentin Bryce officially opened the 100th Annual Killarney Show on Saturday.
“I’m delighted to participate in such an important milestone with you. Every year this much loved community occasion brings together all aspects of your community,” Ms Bryce said.
She paid tribute to the many organisers and volunteers that helped to run the Killarney Show.
“I take great pleasure in opening the 2012 Killarney Show. It means a lot to me to be able to share such a wonderful occasion with you,” Ms Bryce said.
The show weekend ran from Friday until Sunday and featured special displays created for the 100th show by the Killarney Pony Club, Yangan’s Mick Bradford and the Killarney Historical Society.
There were plenty of popular events at the show including the street parade, sideshow alley and ring events.
