Amazing day for students

It was all systems go recently when Stanthorpe State School’s super excited Year Two students climbed on board a bus to the iconic Granite Belt Maze, where they were to take part in a television appearance.
Accompanied by equally delighted teachers and parents, the 10am bus ride to the maze was a fun interlude during which the Stanthorpe State School ‘tourists’ really got in the mood for fun.
Arriving at the maze, the excited school group was welcomed by Granite Belt Maze owners, Craig and Sandra Williams and after a little morning tea, students, teachers and parents then met with the film crew and rubbed shoulders with the stars from Channel 9’s Discover Down Under.
Taking a trip around the maze, with clues in hand, students worked in pairs to conquer what was a very challenging puzzle.
Whilst tackling the twists and turns of the maze, students were being filmed and at the same time, owner Craig was being interviewed on the middle tower, with all the mayhem of puzzle solving going on in the background.
Adding to the thrill of it all, some students got up close and personal with the camera and were spoken to on film, saying what they were doing and how they felt about it.
The film crew were all very impressed with the wonderful behaviour and fun loving enthusiasm of Stanthorpe State School’s young students throughout the day’s filming, all of whom went home absolutely exhausted, but happy after their big day out.
