Library membership drive winners for May

Congratulations to Veronica, Damien and Keagan Prins of Stanthorpe and to the Epetahui family of Warwick who are the happy winners of the Southern Downs Regional Council’s libraries membership drive for the month of May.
By becoming members, their names went into the draw for a prize.
The Prins family received a family bowling package comprising two games, pizza and drinks.
The Epetahui family won a Warwick cinema package of movie tickets for two adults, two children and $20 to spend at the snack bar, which was very welcome at this time of year.
“This is perfect timing for the school holidays,” Mrs Epetahui said.
As a part of the National Year of Reading, Southern Downs libraries are holding a membership drive to encourage residents to become familiar with their local library.
The drive was launched in May to coincide with Library and Information Week and will run through to the end of July.
“We would like to encourage more residents to take advantage of this wonderful free service. Our libraries have a wide range of items, from books to DVDs, CDs, audio books, jigsaw puzzles and much more,” librarian Samantha Shelbourn said.
Library membership is free to residents of the region and, during the drive, new members will go into the draw to win great prizes. Two winners will be drawn each month.
For more information on how to join, contact the council’s libraries at Warwick (4661 0342), Stanthorpe (4681 2141) or Allora
(4666 3742).
