Star Makers head to Granite Belt for muster

Luke Dickens (right) was the 2011 Star Maker winner.

Preparations are well underway for the very first Mountview Music Muster, to be held on Saturday, November 17.
Star Maker winners Luke Dickens and Luke Austen will hit the road in their Toyotas to headline the inaugural event, which is taking place among the pine trees at Mountview Wines in Glen Aplin.
Vineyard owners David and Angela McGrath are proud to bring the very best in country, blues and rock to the Granite Belt.
“We love the region, and it is such a music hub that we were so surprised when we realised there was no dedicated country music event in the area,” Mr McGrath said.
“James Blundell was born in Stanthorpe, and we noticed that the region has festivals that include all types of other music – jazz and blues, for example.
“We are huge country music fans ourselves and wanted to share that with others.”
Luke Austen won the Star Maker competition in 2010, and Luke Dickens was the 2011 winner of the competition that launched the careers of many country stars such as Lee Kernighan, Beccy Cole and Keith Urban.
They will be joining talent such as Tarscha and country music regulars Sam Burgess and Noreen Bennedick for what is sure to be a great afternoon of music, wine and local food.
The inaugural Mountview Music Muster will also feature a Talent Quest and Ute Muster.
Tickets start at $20 and can be booked online at www.mountviewmusicmuster.com.au.
