Multimedia whizzes

Taiesha Combo, Kallista Windle and Jade Thompson.

Stanthorpe State School students recently took part in the annual Granite Belt Schools Multimedia Competition, contributing some excellent work and coming away with a prize for one especially hard working trio.
Year 7 students, Taisha Combo, Kallista Windle and Jade Thompson, were presented with trophies for their stunning work on their website page entitled ‘Amazing Animals of the Ocean’.
Featuring the fascinating marine life existing in the depths of our vast oceans, Taisha, Kallista and Jade took great delight in researching and displaying an array of amazing animals, including sea cucumbers, leafy sea dragons and seals on their unique education Queensland website. Using bright colours and pictures to aptly display this wonderful deep sea world, Taisha, Kallista and Jade sought to capture the imaginations of children of all ages by featuring not only stunningly beautiful but unusual animals and provided hyperlinks for added interest and enjoyment.
Participating in this activity enabled our students to not only have the opportunity to thoroughly research and discover knowledge of sea creatures, but to develop their computer literacy and multimedia competencies.  Involving students from small schools throughout the Granite Belt, the competition was particularly fierce this year, with submissions from our fellow small schools impressing the judges and making the decision of establishing winners particularly tough.
We congratulate our students for their very fine work and look forward to many more of our talented students participating in the competition next year.
