IT WAS an action-packed racing weekend for an Allora family who took part in the Mopar Muscle drags at Morgan Park Raceway on Saturday and Sunday, 4-5 May.
Nicole and Gary Steinberger, along with their 17-year-old son Nathan, put the pedal to the metal – with Nicole crowed winner of the ladies’ Powder Puff class.
Both Mr and Mrs Steinberger raced their green coupe Valiant Charger, while Nathan drove the family’s second Charger, a yellow sedan.
Unforuntately the boys were left behind, after the coupe overheated while Gary was making his attempt at the finals.
Nathan also bowed out late, due to broken engine mounts.
Mrs Steinberger said they all put in an outstanding performance and enjoyed the weekend.
“It was a wonderful weekend, and really well orgainised by the (QLD) Chrysler Club,” Mrs Steinberger.
“It was also nice to win the women’s Powder Puff class for the first time.”
The drag event was the fourth event of the year presented by the Queensland Chrysler Association, and attracted hundreds of onlookers.
