St Joseph’s School Stanthorpe students Dominic Thwaite, Andreas Gaskell, Justin Carter, Mikaela Sullivan and Nik Charlton are ready to perform their latest theatre production, Man of Steel.

By JONATHON HOWARD

ST JOSEPH’S School Stanthorpe will present Man of Steel at its bi-annual school musical on Friday 31 May.
The performance will be the school’s 12th year of providing family entertainment at an affordable price.
Man of Steel was written especially for young people and is full of fun, fast-moving action, larger than life characters and spectacular chorus numbers.
Many months of rehearsals during lunch times, after school and on weekends will ensure the production is funny and entertaining.
The action-packed musical spoof and spectacular show of heroically super proportions will showcase some of St Joseph’s finest talent.
For some of these students it will be their final performance with the school.
In the last scene, the Man of Steel is tied up with Linda Street (or Lois Lane, as most know her) with a 10-tonne weight suspended high above their heads.
Next to them is a large, green glowing thing – kryptonite.
Will the Man of Steel save Linda?
To find out head to the Stanthorpe Civic Centre on Friday 31 May or Saturday 1 June at 7pm.
Tickets with allocated seating are available from the St Joseph’s School office and Pink Poppies and cost $15 for adults, $10 for students and concession, and $5 for under-5s.
