Road works update

By JONATHON HOWARD

MUTAPILLY TO SOUTH OF WARRILL VIEW
Reconstruction works are planned to start in late May to repair the road shoulder, replace damaged road surfaces and lay asphalt to repair damage caused by the severe wet weather of 2010-’11. These works have been packaged up with planned safety and maintenance works in this area. The safety and maintenance works will include strengthening the embankment at various locations and resurfacing the road. Carrying out these works as a single project will reduce costs and the duration of changed traffic conditions.

SILVERDALE TO FASSIFERN
The roadworks through this section of the Cunningham Highway are nearly completed. The final bitumen seal is expected to be laid this week and the contractor should be finished in early June.

ARATULA TO THE HELIPAD NEAR CLUMBER
These works to repair damaged sections of the Highway through this area are making good progress. Work to replace damaged culverts south of the Lake Moogerah Road turn-off at Mount Edwards is taking place around the clock and should be completed by the end of May, site and weather conditions permitting.
Meanwhile, works at other sites through this area are continuing with repairs to the shoulder, reconstruction of the damaged road surface and asphalt laying.
At all of these roadworks road users should expect single lane closures and reduced speed limits around the clock.
