Sustainable farming on Organic Group’s agenda

The Border Landcare Organic Group’s June field day will ironically be held on Saturday, July 2, and features Gary Zerner from AgSolutions Australia as guest speaker.
The topic will be soil regeneration and livestock nutrition with an emphasis on helping farmers to make the transition to low chemical, sustainable farming.
This field day will be of interest to both the conventional farmer and the organic farmer.
As well as addressing the restoration of soil fertility, Mr Zerner’s other focus is the nutritional health of livestock.
Through ensuring animals get adequate minerals and trace elements, loss of production can be avoided in times of drought as well as during periods of lush pasture growth.
Everyone is welcome to come along to The Summit Hall on Saturday at 10am. Bring a plate to share for morning tea or lunch.
