Blacksmithing demonstration for BLOG

This Saturday sees the next field day for the Border Landcare Organic Group (BLOG). Hosts for the day are Adrian and Esme Hobba.
Mr Hobba will be assisted by a number of other blacksmiths who will be demonstrating various tool repairs, the creation of a garden tool from an old railway spike and, hopefully, charcoal making. If you want anything repaired, please contact Mr Hobba directly at hobbae@gmail.com as there is a limit to the number of repairs that can be undertaken.
There will be a fee of $5 per adult for the day to cover the blacksmiths’ travelling expenses.
The day will begin with morning tea at 10am. The activities will start at 11am, followed by lunch about 12.30pm.
Mrs Hobba will have the pizza oven fired up and will supply dough as well as tomato base, so bring your favourite pizza toppings to sample as well as other food to share for either morning tea or lunch. A wood oven will also be available for heating up food and to boil water.
To get there from Stanthorpe, take the Texas Road, after 10km turn right into Elks Lane, then left into Spring Creek Road, after another 3km, turn left into Sonego Lane and look for the BLOG signs.
The very successful Bring and Buy stall will be in operation, so please remember to bring along any excess produce or plants.
Visitors are most welcome. Information on BLOG activities can be found at www.granitenet.com.au/groups/environment/blog
