Final call for Wintersong Carnival

Organisers are putting out a final call for participants to join Tenterfield’s Wintersong Carnival Street Parade on Saturday, June 23.
Travellers may expect the New England Highway to be closed for up to an hour that Saturday.
The parade starts at 12.30pm from High Street, travels the highway, up Manners Street to end at the Tenterfield Showgrounds for a Band Stand – an afternoon of live music and markets.
Getting in time for the carnival beat, various rehearsals are getting underway in Tenterfield.
For example, Tenterfield Physical Culture Club are well in practice with their dance routine for the big day. It’s not too late to sign up and show your club colours.
Following a Wintersong talent building (drum workshop) last month, participants are keeping the spirit of song alive for the occasion. Drum enthusiasts meet in Jubilee Park to practise beats for the carnival parade on June 23.
Get with the rhythm, meet up for a session this Sunday. Everyone is welcome. Join the fun, bring your own drum, or something you can shake or beat.
