Free help to control Chilean Needlegrass

Landholders throughout the Condamine catchment battling Chilean Needlegrass are not alone.
Condamine Alliance is partnering with Biosecurity Queensland, Toowoomba Regional Council and local groups to detect and control new infestations of the Class 1 Weed.
Due to the weed’s pest status, landholders are required to control it under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002.
With everyone’s support, it is possible to prevent the weed’s further spread through the floodplain, for the benefit of the Condamine catchment community and environment.
Landholders near waterways or who were affected by floodwaters last year may be eligible for free assistance to control the weed on their property.
Property visits are being conducted now, as it is the best time of year to control the weed.
A professional contractor will visit eligible properties to survey and treat for the weed.
For more information, or to register your interest, contact Alexandra Kennedy on 4620 0119 or email alexandra.kennedy@condaminealliance.com.au
The weed control activities are part of a wider relief effort by Condamine Alliance funded through the National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements via the Queensland Reconstruction Authority.
