In relation to the Cunningham’s Gap issues, I feel that the money wasted on the Clem7 tunnel would have been better spent by far on a tunnel under Cunningham’s Gap as thousands of trucks and cars use this highway every day. A toll applied on this highway would not be a failure as it was with the Clem7, as these people have no alternate route other than to travel all the way to Toowoomba. The constant interruptions to travel on this highway are of great concern to all trucking companies who keep our country running and our everyday travellers. The money being spent on continual repair to this roadway will in time far outweigh the cost of the tunnel. A tunnel would pay for itself in time. Whereas the continual repair is a non recoverable outlay.
