We pay our orchardists to plough their trees into the ground, and then import fruit. Crazy.
We allow mining and exploration companies to “invade” prime agricultural land without any thought to the future about our needs for fruit and vegetables. Suffice to say, they will leave the land degraded to the point where it cannot be rehabilitated, and untold damage to the aquifers.
We continue to allow the foreign takeover of our food processors and the like.
When are we going to wake up and stop this lunacy?
Where are our politicians and political aspirants who have got the gumption to say enough is enough?
