Fingers crossed for fair go

Perceptions can be rather unnerving when past behaviour is so fresh in one’s memory. Therefore Prime Minister Gillard’s visit during which she delivered an oration to politicians in the United States of America’s Leglislature had me crossing my fingers in hopes that, should questions ever arise about content accuracy, we Aussies were not conscripted!
Heard a wise idea float over the air recently, with regard to a fair go. Since our university students are bound by their responsibilities to HECS fees once educated and earning, there should be similar obligations upon the thousands of boat arrivals now housed at taxpayers’ expense, once they become educated and earning.
It would be quite interesting to see if Australia would feel winds blowing boat people back to where they came from, or if they really are prepared to pay their way, as our students are required to do.
